In the heartland of the Mississagi River Valley there are dozens of lakes, rivers, waterfalls, natural jacuzzis and mountains waiting to be explored. horseback riding, fishing and boating, the Mississagi River Valley has numerous things to do. Tourists flock to see the spectacular Aubrey Falls, located north of Mountain View B&B.
Other popular activities include canoeing and kayaking on the dozens of popular lakes and rivers, hiking, swimming, cycling, golfing, bird watching, mountain climbing, and hunting in the fall.
Art, Tarts and Tea is a tea garden run by Ginny and Sandy Post. Enjoy a visit to the local tea garden and learn about the history and the natural spendour of the area while having a cup of tea and looking at the local arts and crafts. Ginny and Sandy have been active in working with the Ministry of Natural Resources with the local fish counts in the lakes and bringing the elk to this area. They run a small farm and opened the tea garden/art studio in 2001. The desserts are fabulous and the tea delightful.
Specialty Shopping – The Thessalon area has unique shopping experiences Forestland and The Round Barn. They specialize in giftware, pottery, local crafts, clothing, etc

Mississagi River Canoe Trip: Arrange a day on the river with canoe rentals.
The Natural Jacuzzi: Snowshoe Creek approximately 8 miles north of Mountain View offers a natural jacuzzi.
Pig Pen Chute:A Deep narrow chute through which the Mississagi River, a great swimming hole and cliff diving. Spectacular to see and only a five-minute walk from the road.
Grindstone Creek Trail:This 20-minute trail will take you to one of the most beautiful and secluded wonders in the area. The trail winds through a mature forest and culminates at the edge of a 100-foot cascading waterfall.
Rocky Candy Mountain
Climb the remains of an extinct volcano and experience a vista that encompasses all of the area lakes and lands.
Colony Trail
This gentle walk, adjacent to Outpost lodge takes you through an abandoned hydro colony, which was once the home of hundreds of men who constructed the great dams of the area.
Raynor Wells Hydro Dam
This large, hydro dam contains the reservoir that we know as Tunnel Lake. A towering concrete structure, this impressive dam feeds its power into the Ontario power grid. A great view of the Wharncliffe Valley.
Aubrey FallsThis well-known attraction features the roaring falls as well as a Trading Post and picnic spot.
Golf Courses in the area are Huron Pines, Blind River, Livingston Creek, Thessalon and Island Springs on St. Joseph’s Island
